carletta sue kay - for the birds. yay, carletta’s debut album is coming out soon! i’ve seen these guys live twice and they’re fucking amazing. randy (a big, earnest bear) goes on stage in sloppy drag and belts out his strangely beautiful falsetto (which i’ll admit may be a bit of an acquired taste) and makes you want to sway and cry. to be honest i don’t think this recording really captures the power of their live performances (which would be a tall order), but it’s still nice, and i’m curious to hear the rest.
